Experience the perfect combination of Tanzania’s world renowned wildlife safari and the idyllic beaches of Zanzibar on this unforgettable safari Your adventure begins in Arusha before exploring some of Northern Tanzania’s most spectacular national parks. Discover the ancient baobab studded landscapes of Tarangire National Park, home to some of Africa’s largest elephant herds, before journeying across the endless plains of the legendary Serengeti National Park, where exceptional wildlife viewing and the seasonal Great Migration create unforgettable safari experiences.
Continue to the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site often referred to as Africa’s “Garden of Eden,” where an extraordinary concentration of wildlife including the endangered black rhino can be found within the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera.
Day 1: Arrival Arusha
You will be transferred from the airport in Kilimanjaro Airport. Busy Arusha is an essential part of safari life here in northern Tanzania and most travelers pass through at some stage. Whether you’re on your way out on safari or here for a little longer, you’ll catch a glimpse of streets filled with energy and color.

Day 2: Arusha - Tarangire
We think you’ll be impressed with Tarangire National Park. Most visitors love the distinct shapes of the baobab trees silhouetted against the sky that make this place feel like a fairy-tale African landscape. Or visitors remember the elephants that roam in family bands everywhere throughout the park. If you’re lucky, you’ll also encounter the big cats – lions especially, but also cheetahs and leopards – that are always a possibility here. And there’s a fair degree of certainty that you will tick wildebeest, giraffe, hippo, buffalo and zebra off your wildlife-viewing list. Explore fantastic Tarangire on a guided game drive that will take you out among the baobab trees to look for lions, elephants and more.
Accommodation Marera Valley Lodge
DAY 3 Ngorongoro Crater
Your first sight of Ngorongoro Crater is likely not one you’ll easily forget. As seen from the crater rim, this natural bowl, both vast and intimate, is one of Africa’s most beautiful natural features, stretching 19 green kilometers (12 miles) from one side to the other. Down in the crater itself, you’ll explore an astonishingly rich, self-contained ecosystem that is protected by high crater walls. Here, lions and hyenas hunt wildebeest and Grant’s gazelle within sight of elephants and black rhinos. Your day spent here will reveal a surprising variety of habitats, from
the Lereal Forest and salty Lake Magadi to the plains that rise and fall gently all across the valley floor.
Your early morning descent into Ngorongoro Crater is a fantastic way to begin your safari day. The guided game drive will take in all the best views, as well as wildlife that could include lions, hyenas and black rhinos.
Accommodation Serengeti Kati Kati Tented Camp
DAY 4 Northern Serengeti National Park
In the Northern Serengeti, you’ll see wildlife in a beautiful setting and with not many other people around. There are animals here all throughout the year, but they’re everywhere when the migration is passing through. The scenery in this part of the park is also superb with plenty of Serengeti savannah grasslands between the rocky hills and Mara River.
You’ll be heading down more safari trails in search of animals in Northern Serengeti National Park when we take you on a guided game drive. This is the best thing about many safaris, and you’ll hopefully see many animals.
Accommodation Mara Kati Kati Tented Lodge
Day 5: Zanzibar Island
Fly to Zanzibar direct from Serengeti and You’ll be arriving at Zanzibar Airport, the main arrival point for people flying to the island. The airport is next to Stone Town, on the western side of the island.
Utterly unlike anywhere else in Tanzania, Zanzibar Island is a fascinating place to explore. Beautiful beaches and scenery are part of the appeal here, but the architecture and atmosphere in Stone Town and elsewhere are highlights. Stunning buildings and markets that carry strong echoes of the spice trade make for a memorable stay.
